The India-United Kingdom Joint Military Exercise ‘AJEYA WARRIOR-25’ successfully concluded today at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan, marking the end of a two-week-long intensive bilateral military engagement. This eighth edition of the exercise brought together 240 soldiers from both nations, showcasing a deep commitment to enhancing defence cooperation, interoperability and mutual understanding between the two professional armies.
Over the past fourteen days, troops from the Indian Army’s Sikh Regiment and the United Kingdom Army’s Royal Gurkha Rifles participated in a series of joint tactical and operational training modules. The exercise was conducted under a United Nations mandate framework, with a primary focus on counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban and complex environments. Both contingents worked collaboratively to learn, adapt and refine strategies relevant to modern-day conflict scenarios.
The training curriculum covered a comprehensive set of combat skills, including close-quarter battle techniques, room intervention drills, cordon-and-search operations, and heliborne insertion procedures. Soldiers underwent rigorous combat conditioning that tested their physical endurance and tactical proficiency. Detailed operational discussions and mission-planning sessions enabled both sides to exchange key insights on weapon handling, communication systems, and coordinated tactical responses in high-risk zones.
A major highlight of the exercise was the validation phase, during which both armies demonstrated the skills and jointmanship developed over the training period. The joint drills displayed a remarkable level of precision, coordination and situational awareness, underlining the enhanced interoperability between the participating troops. This phase reaffirmed the ability of both forces to operate cohesively in demanding operational environments.
The closing ceremony today was marked by a vibrant cultural exchange that showcased the shared traditions and friendly ties between the two countries. Outstanding soldiers from both contingents were honoured for their exemplary performance during the training modules. The display of indigenous Indian weapon systems and equipment under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative added another important dimension, reflecting India’s growing self-reliance in defence production.
AJEYA WARRIOR-25 continues to be a vital element in the series of joint military engagements conducted annually between India and the United Kingdom.

It serves not only as a platform for strengthening military cooperation but also as an opportunity for developing interpersonal bonds, cultural understanding and professional respect among the soldiers of both nations. By creating an environment of shared learning, the exercise further enhances the ability of the armies to collaborate effectively during international missions, especially those mandated by the United Nations.
The successful completion of this edition reinforces the long-standing defence relationship between India and the UK. It also reflects a shared commitment to global peace, regional stability and collective security. As both countries navigate evolving security challenges, exercises like AJEYA WARRIOR remain crucial pillars supporting mutual trust, preparedness and strategic partnership aimed at safeguarding international harmony.
