BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, stating that as it completes three years on December 11, it stands out as “the most incompetent government in the state’s history”. Addressing media here on Wednesday, he said the government has no justification for celebrating three years in office when, according to him, people across Himachal Pradesh have endured misgovernance and administrative collapse.
Bindal said the BJP has consistently raised public concerns for the last three years and will continue to amplify the voices of the common people.
As part of this outreach, the party will organise a massive protest rally on December 4 in Dharamshala. The demonstration will take place at the Zorawar Stadium, where thousands of party workers and supporters are expected to gather in opposition to the state government’s policies. A state-level committee has been formed to coordinate the event. BJP state vice-president Vipin Parmar has been appointed as the in-charge of the protest. The committee will oversee mobilisation, logistics, and communication for the large-scale demonstration.
Intensifying his criticism, Bindal said the Congress government’s three-year tenure has brought “ruin” to the youth and unemployed, leading to worsening economic conditions and rising debt in the state.
He alleged that law and order have deteriorated sharply, pointing to incidents of murder, robbery, kidnapping, and the rise of mafia activities.
He further claimed that the government had deceived women, youth, farmers, horticulturists, and labourers with false promises and unfulfilled guarantees. Educational and health institutions—including schools, colleges, hospitals, tehsils, patwar circles, and veterinary dispensaries—were either shut down or weakened, he alleged. According to Bindal, development projects have been stalled across the state, resulting in administrative paralysis.
Bindal also targeted the government for failing to deliver on its pre-poll commitments such as providing Van Mitra, Jal Mitra, Rogi Mitra, Bijli Mitra services, permanent jobs in the first Cabinet meeting, employment until 58 years, pension-backed jobs; one lakh jobs, five lakh employment opportunities, Rs1,500 per month to 28 lakh women, milk at Rs 100 per litre and cow dung at Rs 2 per kg.
Calling the government’s planned three-year celebration a “celebration of devastation,” he said the BJP’s December 4 protest will mark the beginning of a stronger statewide movement to expose what he termed the “complete collapse of governance” under the Congress regime.
