The Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has been directed by the party high command to come on the street & raise the voice for the constitutional and democratic rights of the people, including the restoration of statehood under “Mera Jammu-Kashmir Mera Adhikaar” movement.
A delegation of party leaders, led by its Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni, met with party national president Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree in Mumbai today and sought guidance from the party party chief on Jammu and Kashmir issues.
Sahni stated that the party chief has directed the party to launch the “Mera Jammu-Kashmir Mera Adhikaar” movement to demand the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and the restoration of the people’s constitutional and democratic rights. Sahni stated that despite more than six years having passed, Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood has not been restored, nor is the state being treated as a Union Territory. The BJP, which garnered votes across the country in the name of restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, has left Jammu and Kashmir abandoned to be crushed in the mill of statehood and union territory. Unemployment is at its peak, youths are becoming drug addicts out of desperation due to lack of employment. Around 62000 temporary and daily wage earners are staging a sit-in protest for the last 1200 days demanding regularization and daily wages on the lines of the Centre. The wait for running trains from Jammu to Kashmir is getting prolonged. Whereas, the only train for the rich, Vande Bharat, is being run from Katra to Kashmir. About two and a half months ago, the torrential rains caused natural disasters like floods, resulting in massive loss of life and property, but the central government did not release any relief funds (even though the Jammu division suffered the most from this disaster, and the people there have always expressed their faith in the BJP).
Sahani said that the party’s party chief has also been urged to raise his voice against the injustices being perpetrated at the national level. Vinayak Raut (former MP and leader) was also present on the occasion.
