Dogra Degree College (Autonomous) organized an engaging Guest Lecture-cum-Workshop on “EQ, IQ and Personality Development” at the Auditorium of the Dogra Educational Complex. The session aimed at nurturing students’ emotional intelligence, intellectual growth, and holistic personality through insightful discussions and experiential activities.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Manish Raj Sharma, Director and Chief Training Analyst, MRS Training Services, a distinguished resource person renowned for his expertise in behavioural training and personality enhancement. The session began with a warm Welcome Address by Ms. Shivani Kashyap, Member IQAC, who extended greetings to the guest speaker, faculty, and students.
Mr. Sharma led an interactive session highlighting the balance between Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ), emphasizing their combined impact on professional and personal success. Students actively participated in reflective discussions and group activities focused on self-awareness, emotional control, and interpersonal effectiveness.
An intellectually stimulating Moot Court Activity followed, where students debated on the theme “Crimes Against Men and Women.” The exercise not only honed their analytical and public-speaking skills but also encouraged them to think critically about gender issues, justice, and equality before the law.
The concluding segment, an Open Theatre Presentation, saw students creatively portray contrasting scenarios on Good Parenting and Bad Parenting. The performances were both thought-provoking and emotional, demonstrating how parental and social behaviour influences a child’s emotional growth and moral development. The activity served as an excellent outlet for creativity, teamwork, and self-expression.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, lauded the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team for conducting a session that combined learning with engagement. She emphasized the importance of personality development programs in preparing students to meet the challenges of the modern world with confidence and integrity.
The event was coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Rakesh Mohan Koul, Programme In-charge, BBA &B. Com, and Mr. Balwant Singh, Programme In-charge, BA, who commended the enthusiasm and active participation of students throughout the workshop.
The session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Preeti Sharma, Convenor, Placement & Career Counselling Cell, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, college management, and students for making the event a grand success.
