In a remarkable initiative to inspire and instil a sense of patriotism among the youth, the Indian Army organised a motivational lecture by Nk (Naik) Chaudary Ram, SM, a distinguished gallantry awardee, at Government High School, Lam, Rajouri, on November 4, 2025. The event formed part of the Army’s continuous outreach programme aimed at strengthening the bond between the armed forces and the local populace while motivating the younger generation to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and security.
Nk Chaudary Ram, SM, who has served with distinction and displayed exceptional bravery during critical operations, shared his inspiring journey of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to duty. Speaking to students, teachers, and attendees, he narrated several real-life incidents from his military service that exemplified the values of selflessness, resilience, and determination that define the Indian Army. His words painted a vivid picture of the challenges faced by soldiers in the line of duty and the unflinching resolve with which they protect the nation’s borders.
During the interactive session, the gallantry awardee emphasised the importance of discipline, teamwork, and a strong moral compass – qualities that form the foundation of military life and can guide young individuals in every walk of life. He encouraged students to cultivate a spirit of service, integrity, and perseverance in whatever career they choose, reminding them that true patriotism lies not only in defending the borders but also in contributing responsibly to the nation’s progress in everyday life.
One of the highlights of the lecture was his call to every citizen to hoist the National Flag at their homes. He explained that this simple yet powerful act serves as a symbol of unity, respect, and pride in the nation. By displaying the tricolour, citizens reaffirm their collective identity as Indians and express gratitude towards those who safeguard the country’s sovereignty. His appeal resonated deeply with the students, many of whom expressed their eagerness to follow the practice and encourage others to do the same.
The session evoked a strong sense of motivation among the audience. Students listened attentively as Nk Chaudary Ram spoke about the values that keep soldiers steadfast in the face of danger – courage under fire, loyalty to comrades, and love for the motherland.
His stories of valour and endurance inspired many young attendees to consider joining the Armed Forces, viewing it as a noble path of service and honour.
The lecture was attended by 22 students and two teachers from Government High School, Lam. The participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for organising such an enlightening and patriotic event.
Teachers appreciated the Army’s efforts to reach out to rural and remote areas, ensuring that the youth there receive guidance and exposure to national role models.
The Indian Army’s initiative to bring decorated war heroes closer to the people continues to play a vital role in nurturing nationalism, building community confidence, and motivating future generations to uphold the ideals of courage and selfless service. The session at Lam, Rajouri, concluded with loud applause, heartfelt thanks, and an overwhelming sense of pride among all present – a true testament to the enduring spirit of India’s brave soldiers and their unwavering commitment to the nation.
