The District Administration Budgam today organized a Mega Event under Sewa Parv at Government Middle School Razwen, Budgam. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from line departments, students, beneficiaries, and members of the public, making it a vibrant platform for awareness, outreach, and community engagement.
In pursuance to the directions of District Administration, various departments including Health, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Handicraft/Handloom, KVIB/KVIC, Employment, NRLM, ICDS, Lead District Bank, and CSC Budgam installed their departmental stalls at the venue. These stalls showcased flagship schemes, success stories, and departmental achievements, and also provided on-the-spot beneficiary registrations, demonstrations, and awareness sessions for the general public.
The stalls remained the main attraction of the event where people interacted directly with officials, sought guidance, and availed of different services.
Adding to the spirit of the celebration, students from various schools across Budgam presented colourful cultural programmes, including songs, skits, dances, and performances based on social themes. These presentations not only entertained but also sensitized the audience on issues of social importance, highlighting values of unity, cleanliness, drug de-addiction, and women empowerment.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Mehraj-ud-din Shah.
Among other prominent officers present were Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Budgam, Javaid Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Budgam, Hilal Ahmad; Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Budgam, Naseer Ahmad; Block Development Officer (BDO) Budgam along with other district and sectoral officers.
As part of the day’s proceedings, several awareness and demonstration activities were also carried out, in line with the ongoing Sewa Parv initiatives across the district. These included Awareness/Demonstration on Value Addition and Processing in Horticulture with special focus on marketing linkage for farmers.
Run for Unity organized under Sewa Parv at Hardapanzoo and other adjoining areas.
Medical and Health Camps offering consultations, screenings, and awareness on health and hygiene.
Yoga Sessions held in schools including Higher Secondary School Khag, aimed at promoting physical and mental well being among students. Cleanliness and Swachhta Drives in different blocks including Charar-i-Sharief and Surasyar.
Joint Awareness Programmes on Drug Abuse Prevention, organized with the support of Police and Educational Institutions.
Distribution of IEC material and Dustbins by Municipal Committees in Budgam and Chadoora to further strengthen cleanliness initiatives.
Painting Competitions and Wall Art Activities by students, themed on Sewa Parv and social awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers appreciated the efforts of all participating departments, schools, and institutions in making the event successful.
They stressed the importance of community participation in government initiatives and urged officials to continue ensuring that information and services under government schemes reach the grassroots level.
The Mega Event concluded with a message of collective responsibility, social service, and unity, resonating with the spirit of Sewa Parv that aims to bring government services closer to people while encouraging citizen engagement.
The Sewa Parv initiative is aimed at promoting community service, mass participation, and awareness about government schemes, while fostering a sense of unity, responsibility, and nation-building among citizens.
