Labour Commissioner interacts with stakeholders at Kupwara, distributes welfare cheques to workers

The Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kupwara, today organized a comprehensive interactive session under the leadership of S. Charandeep Singh, Labour Commissioner, J&K, bringing together key stakeholders from the district. The event witnessed the active participation of transporters, business owners, industrialists, private school associations, and construction workers. During the session, S. Charandeep Singh held detailed one-on-one discussions with attendees, addressing their concerns and grievances related to the implementation of various labour laws. The dialogue provided a platform for stakeholders to seek clarifications, share challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of the legal frameworks governing fair and regulated workplaces. He also distributed financial assistance cheques to registered Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW).
Speaking on the occasion, S. Charandeep Singh emphasized that the Labour Department is dedicated to strengthening the social security net for workers while ensuring strict compliance with labour regulations across all sectors. The event also served to raise awareness about workers’ rights and the critical role of adhering to labour laws for creating a fair, safe, and equitable working environment. On the occasion awareness about various Social Security schemes including PMSBY, PMJJBY and PMSYM was imparted to various stakeholders.
