MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, today visited Shanti Nagar in Ward No. 39 and interacted with the local residents to take stock of the issues being faced by them.
Officials of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department were also present during the visit.
During his interaction, residents highlighted their concerns about irregular water supply and the hardships caused due to shortage of clean drinking water.
Responding to their grievances, Gupta immediately spoke to the PHE Minister and senior officials of the department to resolve the issue. He asked senior officials to ensure smooth and uninterrupted water supply to Shanti Nagar and surrounding localities.
Gupta assured the residents that their problems will be resolved on priority.
“Water is a basic necessity, and I will make sure that the people of my constituency get a regular and sufficient supply. I have spoken to the PHE Minister and officials to streamline the water distribution system,” he said.
The MLA further announced that a new tube well would soon be constructed in the area to meet the growing demand.
He added that the proposal for the same has been taken up with the concerned authorities and will be implemented at the earliest.
Expressing gratitude towards the residents for bringing their issues to his notice, Gupta reiterated his commitment to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Jammu West.
“I am dedicated to addressing every civic problem of my constituency. Be it water, electricity, or development works, people can directly approach me with their concerns. It is my duty to resolve them,” Gupta stated.
Local residents appreciated the MLA’s prompt response and expressed hope that their long-pending water issues would soon be resolved.
