Mr. Opinder Sharma, representative from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), met with Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir and Chancellor of SMVDU, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, at Raj Bhawan Jammu today.
During the meeting,Mr. Sharma expressed his gratitude to the LG for removing the five-year contract for middle and lower rung employees of SMVDU. This decision is expected to bring relief to the university’s staff members. Mr. Sharma also requested the LG and Chancellor to consider providing pensionary benefits to SMVDU employees, similar to those offered by other universities like BGSBU & IUST in Jammu and Kashmir . The LG listened attentively to Sharma’s concerns and assured him that the matter would be looked into positively.
