The movement for restoring civilian rights in Sainik Colony gained fresh momentum as residents convened the second meeting of their newly formed representative body – Sainik Colony Civilian Residents’ Rights Association (SCCRRA) at the Ram Mandir Complex, Sector D.
The core committee meeting saw leading voices from the colony reaffirming their resolve to end what they called the “dictatorial and unilateral functioning” of the present Sainik Colony Management Committee.
During the meeting, members finalized an action plan to take their concerns to the appropriate authorities. Key decisions included:
Meeting with the Registrar: Residents will press for strict compliance with his earlier order, which they allege has been ignored by the current committee.
Ministerial Outreach: A delegation will soon meet the concerned minister to present a detailed memorandum on the prevailing situation in the colony and seek urgent intervention.
Awareness Campaign: Door-to-door drive across all seven sectors of the colony will educate residents about their equal rights and the importance of collective action.
Membership Drive: A colony-wide enrollment campaign will be launched in every sector of the colony to strengthen representation and unite all residents under one platform.
Speakers at the meeting called for transparency, fairness, and an end to arbitrary decision-making that they claim has marginalized the civilian population. “This is not just about one sector or one issue – this is about restoring the spirit of equality and democracy in our colony,” said one of the newly elected members. The residents vowed to continue their peaceful and organized struggle until their rights are restored and a genuinely representative body governs the affairs of Sainik Colony.
