Senior BJP leader and former State Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, Pawan Sharma, has expressed profound grief over the recent natural calamity in Jammu division that has caused massive loss of lives and destruction of homes, shops, and vital infrastructure worth crores of rupees. He said the tragedy has left thousands of families in distress, but the resilience of the people of Jammu remains unshaken.
“Jammu has always overcome adversities with courage and determination. This time too, we will rise stronger. The people of Jammu have complete faith in the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, who have always stood firmly with the people of Jammu & Kashmir in times of crisis,” Sharma asserted.
Calling for immediate relief and rehabilitation, Sharma emphasized the need for speedy rescue operations, adequate financial assistance, transparent compensation, and comprehensive rehabilitation programmes for the affected population. He urged the Union Territory administration and central agencies to work on war footing to ensure relief reaches every victim.
Highlighting BJP’s commitment, Sharma said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party stands shoulder to shoulder with every affected family. Our karyakartas are actively helping on the ground, and we assure the people that no one will be left behind. With the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Modi Ji and the strong leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah Ji, Jammu will emerge stronger and more resilient.” Sharma further appealed for the early restoration of essential services such as electricity, water supply, road connectivity, and healthcare facilities. He also stressed on the need for long-term disaster preparedness, robust flood and landslide management systems, and enhanced medical infrastructure to deal with such emergencies in future. Conveying his heartfelt condolences, Sharma said, “We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and those who have suffered irreparable losses. The BJP leadership, both at the Centre and in the Union Territory, will continue to remain with the people of Jammu until complete relief and rehabilitation is achieved.”
