ADDC reviews relief measures in rain affected areas of Doda

A detailed review meeting to assess relief measures for damages caused by recent natural disasters across the district was held here today. The meeting was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Doda Roshan Lal, who is also the Chairman of the SOP Committee.
The discussions focused on damages to private property, livestock, crops, religious structures, protective walls and residential houses, along with reports of human losses and minor injuries. The meeting stressed the urgent need for quick verification, transparent assessment and early compensation to the affected families.
ADDC Roshan Lal virtually interacted with Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Assar, Gandoh and Thathri, along with Tehsildars from Bhella and other affected regions. Officers were instructed to expedite damage assessment surveys, maintain proper records for future disaster planning and prepare a comprehensive relief proposal for higher authorities. Special emphasis was laid on strengthening coordination among departments to ensure timely assistance, accurate verification of losses and fair disbursement of compensation.
The meeting also highlighted additional measures, including the introduction of improved early warning systems, strengthening of protective infrastructure in vulnerable areas and livelihood support for affected families through compensation for livestock and agricultural losses. ADDC directed the concerned departments to carry out field inspections promptly and submit final reports within the shortest possible time frame.
The meeting was attended in person by ACR Doda, Ashraf Pervez, and the Accounts Officer of the DC Office Doda. Other officers, including SDMs of Assar, Thathri and Gandoh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineers PWD (R&B) of Gandoh, Doda, Bhaderwah, Thathri and all Tehsildars, attended virtually.
All officers were directed to work collectively to ensure that relief measures are implemented efficiently, transparently and with compassion for the affected families.
