The Equal Opportunity Cell of Dogra Degree College (Autonomous), successfully organized a thought-provoking symposium titled “Swaraj Bharat for All: Men and Women as Equal Pillars of Nation-Building.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students ofManagement, Law, Humanities, and Commerce departments, fostering a spirit of dialogue and inclusivity. The program commenced with a cordial welcome address by Ms. Amarpreet Kaur, which set an engaging and motivational tone for the proceedings. The event was meticulously coordinated by Ms. Monika, Convenor of the Equal Opportunity Cell, under the guidance of Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, and with the support of Mr. Rakesh Mohan Koul, Head of Department BBA & B.Com. The symposium featured interactive sessions and insightful discussions focusing on gender equality, leadership, and social responsibility. Speakers underscored the vital roles of both men and women in shaping a progressive and inclusive India, reinforcing the importance of equal participation in nation-building.
Distinguished judges for the symposium included Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, Faculty of English at Dogra College of Education, and Ms. Indu Gandotra, Head, IT. Their insightful evaluations added immense value to the competition segment of the event.In the competition segment, Diksha Kumar secured the First Position, followed by Manmeet Kour in Second Place, and Saksham Salathia in Third Place.All participants were awarded certificates of participation, acknowledging their contributions and enthusiasm.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shivangi, Faculty at Dogra Degree College. Widely appreciated by all present, the symposium served as a valuable platform for learning, recognition, and meaningful dialogue. It successfully conveyed the powerful message that gender equality is not only a societal imperative but a cornerstone for sustainable national development.
