Dogra Law College (Autonomous), under the aegis of Dogra Educational Trust, successfully organised a Startup Bootcamp on 19th August 2025 at the Auditorium, Dogra Educational Complex, in collaboration with the *Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Samba.
The programme began with a warm Welcome Address and the Lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp, followed by an introduction by Mr. Vijender Singh Jamwal, District Nodal Officer JKEDI. Students then engaged in enriching sessions on JK Startup Policy & Bootcamp overview by Mr. Zahid Ali Dar, Project Manager JKEDI, and an inspiring motivational talk by Mr. Rishik Kumar Sharma, Entrepreneur & Founder of Startup Hackers Pathshala. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries whose words of wisdom provided immense encouragement to the young innovators.
Sh. Chand Kishore Sharma (JKAS), Joint Director JKEDI, in his address, spoke about the pivotal role of JKEDI in fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Union Territory. He encouraged students to explore new-age ventures and assured them that JKEDI would provide every possible guidance and mentoring support.
Mr. R.S Kattal Ji, Member Advisory Board and Governing Body, Dogra Educational Trust, in his Presidential Remarks, appreciated the initiative of collaborating with JKEDI for empowering students beyond academics. He stated that Dogra Educational Trust has always strived to provide holistic education that prepares students to be leaders of tomorrow. He urged students to dream big, take risks, and use their legal education not only for justice but also for building sustainable businesses and social enterprises.
Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust.Dr. Bela Thakur, Director Dogra Group of Colleges;DrDharamveer Sharma, Dean Dogra Group of College; Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator DograEducational trust and Dr Jay Prakash Srivastava, Principal Dogra Law College Autonomous each ofwhom lent their wisdom and presence to the occasion.
The dignitaries were felicitated with mementoes as a token of respect. The Bootcamp further included an Ideation Workshop (Idea Generation & Validation), Idea Pitching sessions, and the shortlisting of Grand Finalists.The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Mannat Angral (BALLB 2nd Sem).
The Startup Bootcamp proved to be an inspiring platform where students not only gained knowledge about startups and policies but also had the opportunity to interact with mentors and leaders who motivated them to transform their ideas into reality.
