Jammu, August 10: In a vibrant display of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, the BJP Trikuta Nagar Mandal today organized a grand Tiranga Yatra that drew an overwhelming response from local residents, community organizations, and party workers alike. The rally, filled with the colours of the national flag and the sounds of patriotic songs, was a resounding tribute to the unity and spirit of the people of Jammu.
The Tiranga Yatra commenced from Trikuta Nagar’s main market, Sector-5, near Sai Palace, and traversed through all sectors of the locality. Participants carrying the tricolour in their hands marched with high energy, raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”. The rally concluded at JDA Park, located opposite the Reserve Bank of India, after passing through key residential and market areas.
The rally was flagged off by Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu Constituency, in the presence of Naresh Singh Jasrotia, BJP District President Jammu South, and Rekha Mahajan, BJP State Vice President. The event was organized under the leadership of Nitish Mahajan, President of BJP Trikuta Nagar Mandal, along with his dedicated team of office-bearers and volunteers.
The event saw a remarkable turnout of over a hundred participants, representing various sections of society. Senior citizens, members of the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society, Senior Citizens Forum, Trikuta Nagar Market Association, and enthusiastic women from BJP Mahila Morcha and Mahila Shakti joined in large numbers.
A key highlight of the rally was the enthusiastic participation of the youth. Many young people, draped in the tricolour or holding large flags, danced to the beats of patriotic songs played along the route.
The festive atmosphere was amplified by drum beats and patriotic music, creating an emotionally charged environment that inspired passersby to join in.
Addressing the media at the event, MLA Vikram Randhawa expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Trikuta Nagar for turning out in such large numbers. “Today’s Tiranga Yatra is not about political lines — it is about the nation. It is about honouring our armed forces, remembering their sacrifices, and reaffirming our commitment to the unity and integrity of India,” Randhawa said. He also lauded the organizers for ensuring that every sector of Trikuta Nagar was covered, thereby taking the message of patriotism to every doorstep.
BJP Jammu South District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia echoed similar sentiments, stating, “The response we witnessed today shows that our people are deeply committed to the idea of India. The Tiranga is not just a flag; it is a symbol of the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters.

It is heartening to see the youth and senior citizens walking together in this show of unity.”
Rekha Mahajan, BJP State Vice President, highlighted the importance of women’s participation in such patriotic events. “Our Mahila Morcha and Mahila Shakti members have shown exceptional enthusiasm. Their active role demonstrates that women are at the forefront of strengthening the spirit of nationalism in society. Today’s rally sends a strong message that every citizen, regardless of gender or age, has a role in building a strong nation.”
The rally was notable for the way it united diverse community groups. The Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society and Senior Citizens Forum brought together elderly participants, many of whom have witnessed India’s journey since Independence. The Trikuta Nagar Market Association lent its full support, with shopkeepers decorating their establishments with flags and streamers, while also joining the rally in solidarity.
In his concluding address, organizer Nitish Mahajan thanked all the participants, community groups, and BJP karyakartas for making the event a grand success. “I am overwhelmed by the love and unity shown by the people of Trikuta Nagar. This rally is proof that when we come together for the nation, nothing can divide us. I thank MLA Vikram Randhawa, District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia, and State Vice President Rekha Mahajan for their guidance and presence. My heartfelt thanks also go to the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society, Senior Citizens Forum, Market Association, Mahila Morcha, Mahila Shakti, and especially the youth who brought unmatched energy to this yatra,” he said.
Mahajan also acknowledged the tireless efforts of his team members, including Tarun (Mandal Prabhari), Pawan Khaujria (Vice President Mandal), Sunny Songotra (Programme In-Charge), Rajinder Koul (General Secretary), Kapil Khurana (General Secretary), Sandeep Sharma (Treasurer Mandal), Vishal Gupta, Rama Jamwal, Shelja Gupta, Prerna Nanda, Rajinder Kakkar, and many others. “Without their dedication and planning, this event would not have been possible,” he added.
The rally concluded at JDA Park with the singing of the national anthem, as participants raised their flags high in the air, reaffirming their love for the motherland. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with music, laughter, and patriotism, served as a reminder that unity remains India’s greatest strength.
