The M Jackson Cultural Institute of Society, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, proudly presented the Media Star Awards 2025 today at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, celebrating outstanding contributions and excellence in the field of journalism.
This prestigious event recognized the dedication, integrity, and achievements of distinguished media professionals who have significantly impacted journalism through their work. Among the notable awardees was Shilpa Thakur, a senior photojournalist and correspondent, honored for her exceptional contributions to visual storytelling and ground reporting in Jammu and Kashmir. The award was also presented to the Editor-in-Chief of the Jammu Kashmir Writer newspaper, acknowledging their visionary leadership, editorial excellence, and commitment to ethical journalism in the region.
The awards ceremony was graciously sponsored by the Betiya Foundation, a national-level NGO committed to empowering communities and promoting social causes. The event featured inspiring keynote addresses, award presentations, and insightful panel discussions on current media trends, ethics, and challenges faced by journalists today.
