Rajouri, july 18
In a determined effort to reach out to youth in remote areas and inspire them towards a meaningful and patriotic career, the Indian Army organized a motivational talk on “How to Join the Armed Forces” at Hasplot village in the Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir. The event took place on 18th July 2025 and attracted a total of 35 enthusiastic participants, primarily school children and local youth, who came together with curiosity, interest, and hope for a better future.
The motivational session was aimed at creating awareness about the vast opportunities available within the Indian Armed Forces and guiding young minds on how to pursue a structured and successful path towards joining the defense services. The Indian Army representative, who addressed the gathering, laid special emphasis on channeling the talent and potential of the academically bright students of the region. Recognizing the lack of access to proper career guidance in remote villages like Hasplot, the Army undertook this initiative as part of its broader outreach and civic action programs.
During the talk, the Army speaker shared details about different entry schemes into the Armed Forces including the NDA (National Defence Academy), CDS (Combined Defence Services), Agniveer recruitment, technical entries, and avenues for women candidates. The speaker also discussed the role of Sainik Schools, Rashtriya Military Schools, and other pre-commissioning institutions that prepare students academically and physically for future careers in defense. These institutions, the Army representative noted, are not only grooming grounds for the armed forces but also centers that instill leadership, discipline, and national pride among the youth.
Importantly, the event was not limited to military careers alone. The Army official also encouraged students to focus on overall education and personal development, stating that education is the foundation of all progress-personal, social, and national. He reassured the young attendees that the Army is committed to supporting them through mentorship, career guidance, and, where possible, assistance in accessing resources needed for competitive preparation.
Parents and elders of the community also attended the session and expressed appreciation for the Army’s continued engagement with the youth of border and remote areas. They emphasized that such events not only raise aspirations among local students but also help in bridging the gap between the community and national institutions. The atmosphere was one of encouragement, pride, and growing trust between the people of Hasplot and the Indian Army.
The Hasplot motivational talk is part of a series of similar initiatives being carried out across border and rural belts of Jammu & Kashmir. These programs aim to build confidence in the younger generation, make them aware of the possibilities beyond their immediate environment, and foster a spirit of service to the nation.
By organizing such events, the Indian Army continues to play a vital role not just in national security but also in nation-building.
The success of the session at Hasplot reflects the positive impact of these engagements and the deepening bond between the Army and the people it serves.
