A significant religious event was held today at Baba Surgal Dev Sthan, Narwal Mandi, where Mahant Mohan Bharti Ji, General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Sant Samaj Nyas, was appointed as the new head priest Mahant . The ceremony witnessed the presence of key office bearers of the Sant Samaj Nyas, including President Shri Mahant Shanti Giri Ji Maharaj, Vice President Ram Narayan Das Shastri Ji, Mahant Rajesh Bittu ji Org General Secretary, Goshala President Rajkumar Gupta Ji, Rajesh Giri Ji, Mahant Jasmer Jangam Ji, Mahant Som Giri Ji, Mahant Krishna Anand Ji, and Swami Soma Anand Ji. Mahant Jyoti saroop katra Devotees and saints from Katra, Udhampur, and Jammu participated in the occasion.
A grand Shiv Vivah was organized by the Jangam sect, followed by a Yagya and community feast (Bhandara), where all saints actively participated. The event was marked by devotion, unity, and spiritual fervor. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Mahant Rajesh Bittu Ji said that today’s gathering was like a grand Kumbh of saints, and for this, Mahant Mohan Bharti Ji deserves sincere appreciation. He also mentioned that a meeting was held among the saints regarding the Shri Amarnath Yatra, especially about conducting a part of it via Shampur. He emphasized the need for coordination with the government on this. He thanked the government for its efforts and said it is their duty to protect the saints’ monasteries and temples. He expressed satisfaction over the excellent arrangements for this year’s Amarnath Yatra.
Mahant Mohan Bharti Ji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the saints and Mahants who attended the event. He extended his sincere thanks and offered his respectful greetings (Sadhuwad) to everyone for their presence, support, and blessings on the auspicious occasion of his appointment as the head priest.
