ADGP Armed Anand Jain Visits IRP 4th Battalion Headquarters in Kupwara

Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed Jammu and Kashmir, conducted an official visit to the IRP 4th Battalion Headquarters at Wayen in Kupwara district. He was accompanied by Shri Junaid Mehmood, IPS, DIG IRP Kashmir, and Shri Munir Ahmad, SSP APCR Kashmir.
On his arrival, ADGP Jain was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a smart contingent of the IRP 4th Battalion. During his visit, he carried out a thorough inspection of the battalion campus, which included a review of the Battalion Kot, mess facilities, MT fleet, equipment store, and the main office. The ADGP also interacted with officers and jawans and later presided over a Darbar to address the concerns of the personnel. He patiently listened to their grievances and assured timely redressal of all genuine issues raised during the session.
While addressing the personnel, Shri Jain stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline, physical fitness, and professional conduct. He warned against drug use, online gaming addiction, and cyber-related frauds, urging personnel to stay vigilant, particularly as security forces are increasingly targeted in cybercrimes.
DIG Shri Junaid Mehmood, in his remarks, underscored the importance of balancing welfare with duty and praised the battalion for its dedicated performance across a wide range of responsibilities.
As part of the visit, the ADGP also inspected the newly constructed infrastructure of the Border 2nd Battalion located at Wayen, Kupwara. He reviewed the ongoing construction work, assessed its quality, and issued on-the-spot directions to ensure the timely completion of all pending projects. He also directed the Commandant of the Border Battalion to shift the unit’s office to the newly completed premises.
Commending the dedication and professionalism of the personnel deployed in the strategically important border district, the ADGP expressed appreciation for their continued efforts in maintaining peace and security.
Prominent officers present during the visit included Shri Showkat Ahmad, IPS, Commandant IRP 4th Battalion; Shri Ghulam Jeelani, SSP Kupwara; Shri J.P. Shahi, Commandant CRPF Battalion; Shri Arif Amin Shah, SSP Commandant Border 2nd Battalion; along with several other officers from the police and paramilitary forces.
