Government should fulfill the promise of giving government jobs to medal winners who have brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir in the sports world, immediately issue the selection list and give relief to the medal winners by ending the long wait of 11 years (2014-2025), stated by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena UBT Jammu and Kashmir unit chief. In a press conference held today at the party’s state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that the wait for getting government jobs for the players who have brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir in the sports world at the national and international level is not coming to an end. After the amendment in SRO 349 by the government, the medal winners were promised government jobs every year under 5 gazetted and 25 non-gazetted posts under SO 12 in the year 2020. It is unfortunate that no player has been able to get a government job in Jammu and Kashmir after 2014. Sahni said that according to the information received from the players, there is a continuous delay in releasing the list due to some non-affiliated sports institutions.
Sahni has appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately intervene and issue instructions to release the backlog selection. Sahni congratulated two wrestlers of Jammu and Kashmir, Bania Min and Ishak Ahmed, who won gold medals in the World Police and Fire Games 2025 held in Birmingham, USA and brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir and demanded promotion and cash prize money from the Omar government and the police department. On this occasion Sanjeev Kohli (working President), Raj Singh (Workers President), Happy Vinod Verma (Youth President Jammu) were present.
