Moreover, experts from IIT Roorkee have studied the region, but a detailed analysis to determine the root causes of the recurring landslides is still pending. With lakhs of devotees coming from across the country, the current state of affairs calls for immediate and strategic intervention. The safety of the yatris cannot be left to chance. While the Shrine Board’s intent is evident, implementation and execution of safety measures must be prompt and scientifically sound. Rather than relying on patchwork solutions, there is a need for a comprehensive master plan focused on slope stabilization, drainage improvement, weather-resistant infrastructure, and real-time monitoring.
