On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Poonch Police, in collaboration with the Haq Insaaf Council, released the powerful short film “Sarhad: LOC Files – War on Drugs” at the District Police Office (DPO) Poonch.The film was officially released in the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Mohan Sharma and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Shri Neeraj Sharma.
“Sarhad” sheds light on the grim realities of narco-terrorism, cross-border drug trafficking, and the resulting crisis faced by the youth in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
The film is a bold effort to document the silent war being waged through drugs and to honour the sacrifices of our security forces, families, and rehabilitated youth who are actively resisting this menace. ASP Mohan Sharma lauded the initiative and emphasized the critical need for community participation in combating drug abuse. DySP Neeraj Sharma highlighted the importance of youth-led awareness efforts and praised the Haq Insaaf Council for bringing forward such a compelling narrative.
“Sarhad is not just a film. It is a voice for the voiceless, a tribute to resilience, and a call to action for every citizen to join the war on drugs.”
This joint initiative is aimed at spreading awareness, encouraging dialogue, and mobilizing collective efforts across the region to root out drug abuse and safeguard the future of our youth.
