Dogra Degree College Commences 5-Day Faculty Development Programme on Digital Governance and NAAC Quality Benchmarking

Dogra Degree College, under the guidance of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), inaugurated a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Digital Governance and NAAC Quality Benchmarking” today at the college premises.
The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a formal welcome address by Ms Aditi Khajuria Convenor IQAC, marking the beginning of a comprehensive academic journey focused on strengthening institutional practices and promoting quality enhancement through digital governance.
The occasion was graced by Mr. Lovetesh Kumar, Senior Manager (State Head), ICT Academy, who served as the Guest Speaker for the day. In his keynote address, Mr. Kumar highlighted the growing importance of digital governance in academic institutions and the integral role of ICT in bridging the digital divide. He appreciated the efforts of Dogra Degree College in organizing such a meaningful and relevant FDP and emphasized the significance of aligning academic operations with technological advancements.
Following the keynote, Dr. Shefali Sharma, a renowned IQAC expert, spoke on the role of IQAC in today’s academic ecosystem, focusing on internal quality enhancement, institutional preparedness for NAAC, and the strategic importance of quality assurance mechanisms in higher education.
The session also featured a review of NAAC AQAR Criteria-1, presented by the respective committee members. The presentation was interactive and provided the participants with clarity on structuring academic data and aligning it with NAAC requirements.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, extended her appreciation to the resource persons and participants. In her address, she emphasized the importance of digital literacy among faculty members and the need to integrate ERP systems into day-to-day academic operations for improved transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Mr. Rakesh Mohan Koul, HoD – BBA & B.Com and Co-Convenor IQAC shared valuable insights on bridging documentation gaps in AQAR, urging departments to work collaboratively in aligning data entries with qualitative institutional goals. Mr. Balwant Singh, HoD – Arts and Humanities, also shared practical examples of how ERP can enhance academic planning, evaluation, and student engagement.
The Day 1 session concluded with a lively Q&A interaction, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of the faculty members towards adopting best practices in digital governance and quality assurance. The FDP will continue till 20th June 2025 with sessions on ERP modules, AQAR Criteria review, research, innovation, and NAAC framework.
