SAMBA, JUNE 1
In a powerful demonstration of collective resolve against drug menace, District administration Samba on Sunday organised a transformative marathon under the aegis of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, mobilizing hundreds of participants across the social spectrum.
The inspiring event, stretching from Barjani Talab in Bari Brahmana to Smailpur Ground, witnessed unprecedented participation from students, youth, government officers and local residents, all united in their commitment to building a drug-free society.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma personally led the marathon, embodying the administration’s hands-on approach to this critical social cause, while emphasizing that creating a healthier future for youth requires every citizen to become an ambassador of change.
The marathon transcended mere symbolism, serving as a catalyst for community awareness and engagement, with Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh and several other departmental heads actively participating alongside educational institutions and enthusiastic locals. Demonstrating environmental consciousness in line with ongoing Environment Week, the administration ensured the entire event remained eco-friendly through exclusive use of biodegradable material for refreshments, showcasing how social causes can align with environmental responsibility.
This well-coordinated initiative by multiple departments not only achieved resounding success in raising awareness against substance abuse but also reinforced the district administration’s unwavering commitment to mobilizing communities, particularly youth, toward healthier and more responsible lifestyles that will secure Samba’s future as a model drug-free district.
