Exhorts DCs to organise regular public interaction, grievance redress camps

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, today held a meeting to discuss the issues raised during her recent visit to various constituencies of Anantnag, Kulgam and Srinagar districts.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan; Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohiudin Bhat and Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Fakhruddin Hamid.
The Minister discussed various on-ground issues raised by the general public during her constituency tours to districts of Anantnag, Kulgam and Srinagar.
While discussing some pressing civic and development concerns shared by the residents, like irregular power and water supply, delayed disbursement of welfare schemes, road conditions as well as issues related to rural development, the Minister stressed upon the Deputy Commissioner’s to address the same at the district administration level. She asked them to be more responsive while dealing with the issues and concerns of public importance.
She called upon the officers for organising regular public interaction and grievance redress camps at block and tehsil level, highlighting that timely action and accessibility of officers to public are key for enhancing public faith in administrative system.
The Minister further said that consistent communication between the administration and public is key towards ensuring seamless delivery of public services. The Deputy Commissioners assured the Minister of their commitment towards improving the service delivery and prompt redress of genuine public issues and concerns.
