The Department of Handicrafts and Handloom organized a Trainee Orientation Program today at Bagana, a Project Affected Site of Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEPP).
During the program, the Assistant Director, Handicrafts and Handloom, Pardeep Shan briefed the trainees about the upcoming Training Center for Cutting and Tailoring and Crochet work at Galaharbhata under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) plan.
To facilitate participation, the department provided doorstep delivery of application forms, eliminating the need for the women to visit the DC office.
The department’s efforts aim to cover more trainees under the Skill Development Plan (R&R) of HEPP, empowering women and dependent family members through-Training in home-based livelihood and micro-entrepreneurial skills, Enabling local income generation, Developing new and innovative designs, Expanding product range, Enhancing market competitiveness etc.
The program was attended by Kuldeep Shan, AHTO Handicrafts, Wheat Straw Craft Instructor besides other Staff.
