DSS condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack; seeks Strong Punitive Action

The Dogra Sadar Sabha held an emergent meeting and discussed the dastardly terrorist attack on tourists yesterday at Pahalgam, under the chairmanship of its president Th Gulchain Singh Charak. The participants held two minutes silence to pay homage to the innocent victims of the barbaric terrorist’s attack.
The speakers, while condemning the terrorist act, held neighboring countries for attempts to disturb peace, harmony and smooth economic progress of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Dogra Sadar Sabha expressed concern over the security-cum intelligence lapse. DSS joined the people of both provinces of Jammu and Kashmir in condemning this act of terrorism who observed complete Bandh in the whole Union Territory.
The Sabha appreciated various social and political organizations for solidarity in both provinces of J&K. It is for the first time in the past three decades that people of the both the provinces of UT have come forward united against the menace of terrorism and its perpetrators and suggested that we should have a proper coordinating committee for the purpose.
All the participants appealed to the public to maintain calm and uphold communal harmony during this difficult time. It emphasized that unity and brotherhood among communities are the most effective responses to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy, who seeks to divide and destabilize the region.
DSS also urged upon the government for strong punitive action for the perpetrators and revival / strengthening of grassroots institutions like Chowkidars, Numberdars and village defense committees, who have historically played a crucial role in assisting civil administration and security agencies by acting as their eyes and ears at the village level. The Sabha believes their involvement is vital in enhancing local intelligence and ensuring timely preventive actions against enemies of the nation. The president in his speech appealed to the people of J&K to stay together and jointly defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy.

Khawaja ( Addl Gen Secy), Brig Dr. Vijay Sagar Dhiman, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, VrC, Amanat Ali Shah (president Anjuman-e-Imamia), Dr Arvinder Singh Amn (Addl Gen Secy), Ehtsham Ul Haq adv. (Conv. Youth Wing)
