The Eco Warrior Club of Dogra Degree College celebrated Earth Day by organising a Creative Pot Making & Sapling Plantation on April 22, 2025. This event underscores the vital importance designed to highlight the importance of reusing waste materials and promoting green practices.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from BBA, B.Com& B.A students and faculty members, who came together to express their commitment to protecting the planet. Participants showcased their artistic talents by crafting unique and eco-friendly pots using clay and recycled materials, emphasizing the importance of reducing waste and embracing sustainable practices. As part of this initiative, students crafted eco-friendly pots using discarded items such as plastic bottles, tin cans, and old containers.
These creatively repurposed pots were used to plant saplings using aerobic compost, which has been carefully prepared by our students under the college’s sustainable waste management program.Following the pot-making session, a sapling plantation drive was conducted within the college premises. Students and staff planted a variety of indigenous saplings, symbolizing their dedication to a greener future and contributing to environmental conservation.
