Dogra Degree College, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, organized a grand Culminating Ceremony titled “Beginnings and Beyond” on April 19, 2025, marking a dual celebration — bidding farewell to the outgoing batch of 2022–2025 and greeting the current batches of the academic session 2024–2027.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, including Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and Former Minister, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, DET, Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, DGC, Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator, DET, and Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. In his address, he applauded and appreciated the talent exhibited by the students. He extended his best wishes to the graduating batch for their future endeavors and encouraged the incoming batch as they embark on their four-year academic journey. He reaffirmed that Dogra Educational Trust promotes quality and inclusive education for all, emphasizing that it is a non-profit organization committed to empowering youth through education. Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, wished the outgoing students success and accomplishments in all their future endeavors, encouraging them to uphold their core values. He also congratulated the faculty and students for organizing a memorable event for both the outgoing and incoming batches. Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator, DET, and Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, DGC, also encouraged students to excel in their academic and personal pursuits. The event featured a range of cultural performances including fusion and remix dances, Bhangra, and musical renditions, presented by junior students from BBA, B.A., and B.Com (2nd & 4th Semesters), including Kashish, Sonia Choudhary, Vansh, Aakriti, Shiv and Mehak, creating a joyful and engaging atmosphere. A heartwarming highlight of the evening was a nostalgic video montage, created by students and faculty. This emotional tribute captured memorable moments, friendships, and milestones from the journey of the outgoing students, evoking smiles, laughter, and a few tears from the audience.
In recognition of excellence, versatility, and vibrant participation, special titles were awarded to both the outgoing and current students of Dogra Degree College. From the outgoing batch, Harshdeep Singh Bali (B.A. 6th Semester) was honored as Mr. Dogra Degree College, Manya Bhardwaj (BA 6th Semester) was crowned Ms. Dogra Degree College, and Daksha Koushal (B.Com 6th Semester) received the title of Ms. All-Rounder. For the current batch of 2024–2027, the titles were conferred to recognize emerging talent and enthusiasm: Aryan Sangra (B.A. 2nd Semester) was named Mr. Rising Star, Rajveer (BCOM 2nd Semester) received the title of Mr. Sparkling Star, and Kashish (BBA 2nd Semester) was awarded Ms. Shining Diva, reflecting a unique and lively spirit among the students.
The winners were selected by an esteemed panel of judges: Mr. Rakesh Mohan Koul HOD, (BBA & B.Com), Mr. Balwant Parihar HOD, B.A., and Ms. Aditi Khajuria (IQAC Coordinator), The program was smoothly and energetically hosted by Akansha and Pratham Dev Singh of B.Com 2nd Semester, and it concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Aditi Khajuria, IQAC Coordinator.
