The Labour Department of Jammu and Kashmir today commenced the registration process for service providers participating in the Shri AmarnathJi Yatra2025. The registration process was formally launched by the Labour Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, Charandeep Singh. The programme was attended by Deputy Labour Commissioner Central/Jammu/Kashmir, Assistant Labour Commissioners (ALCs) virtually along with a large number of service providers, who connected from their respective designated locations across the Union Territory. The registration drive is specifically meant for essential support personnel involved in the Yatra, such as pony wallas, palkiwallas, pithuwallas and hawkers, who play a crucial role in assisting pilgrims during the sacred journey. The registration process is being conducted online through the portal of the Shri AmarnathJi Shrine Board, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Board. The entire process is fully digital and streamlined, ensuring transparency and convenience for all stakeholders.
During the session, the Labour Commissioner engaged directly with the service providers, who brought forth several concerns and suggestions related to their work and welfare. The Labour Commissioner assured them that all genuine grievances would be addressed on priority, and that the department is committed to ensuring fair and efficient facilitation of their services.
“This registration process is a key component of our operational readiness for the Shri AmarnathJi Yatra 2025,” Commissioner said and added “The contributions of these service providers are invaluable, and we aim to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.”
The Labour Commissioner has appealed to all eligible service providers to complete their registration at the earliest through their respective ALC offices. He also urged for early registration to avoid any last-minute rush or procedural inconvenience, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for both service providers and the administration.
