Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) projects being executed under NABARD assistance in the district.
A total of 82 projects, including roads, bridges, water supply schemes, lift irrigation and micro irrigation schemes, are currently underway with a total estimated cost of Rs.437 crore, out of which 90% funding has been sanctioned by NABARD. So far, Rs.237 crore has been disbursed. During the meeting, District Development Manager (DDM) NABARD presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the status of ongoing projects and financial progress.
DC emphasized the completion of RIDF-25 projects on priority by June 2025, while setting September 2025 as the deadline for RIDF-26 projects. He also directed concerned departments to submit Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and Project Completion Certificates (PCCs) to NABARD for already completed works to ensure timely closure.
Moreover, the Allied Agriculture Departments were instructed to formulate and submit new DPRs under RIDF-31, focusing on micro irrigation, land development, seed farms, and animal husbandry infrastructure to further strengthen the rural development framework.
Meeting was attended Joint Director Planning Baramulla, Javed Ahmad; Superintending Engineer R&B, Sanjeev Gupta; DDM NABARD, Mohammad Zubair Wasil, besides other concerned officers.
