Himmat Singh, District President of Shiv Sena Chenab Valley, has urged the Director of Education Jammu to take immediate action to address the severe shortage of staff at Government High School Nagbatna, located in the remote Kuntwara tehsil of Drabshalla, Kishtwar district. Singh emphasized that the lack of adequate teaching and non-teaching staff is hampering the academic progress of students, leading to disruptions in completing the syllabus on time.
Highlighting the situation, Singh pointed out that the school remains closed for two and a half months during the winter vacation, yet even after reopening in April 2025, the shortage of staff has persisted without resolution. Due to this, students are facing difficulties in their studies, and teachers are struggling to cover the syllabus, which could adversely impact their performance in upcoming examinations.
According to Singh, several key positions remain vacant, including that of Head Master, Master Grade teachers, PET (Physical Education Teacher), Chowkidar, Lab Assistant, and other essential staff. The shortage has led to an increased workload on the existing staff, affecting their ability to provide individual attention to students.
Singh further stated that despite the school’s dedication to providing quality education, the lack of adequate teaching and administrative staff is making it difficult to maintain the expected standards of education and student well-being. The shortage is not only impacting students’ learning but also placing an immense burden on the existing teachers, leading to fatigue and a compromised academic environment.
In light of the situation, Himmat Singh urgently appealed to the Director of Education Jammu to immediately fill all the vacant posts to ensure that the students of this remote area do not suffer further due to administrative delays. He emphasized that timely recruitment of teachers and support staff would help in creating a more conducive learning environment, ensuring that students receive the education they rightfully deserve.
Singh urged the authorities to take swift action on the matter so that the academic session progresses smoothly without causing any further difficulties for students and teachers alike.
