Movement Kalki organized a press conference at the Jammu Bus Stand, raising serious concerns over an alarming incident of police brutality that recently surfaced in a viral video from Rajeev Nagar. The press conference was chaired by Shri Sanjeev Dubey, Core Committee Member, and was attended by Legal Advisor Advocate Someshwar Kohli, Shri Harmeet Ji, and Anti-Drug Campaign In-charge Shri Pawan Sharma.
During the press conference, Movement Kalki condemned the shocking visuals from the viral video, which depicted a police officer brutally assaulting a young man. The footage also showed the officer taking a suspicious substance out of his pocket, instructing another officer to capture a photograph, and allegedly attempting to falsely implicate the youth under the NDPS Act. Following this, the young man was forcibly taken to the police station, raising serious questions about police misconduct and abuse of power.
Expressing strong outrage over the incident, Movement Kalki called it a grave violation of justice and an example of misuse of power. The organization demanded that senior police officials intervene immediately and take strict action against the guilty officers. The representatives of Movement Kalki asserted that such corrupt and unethical practices have no place in the police force and urged the immediate suspension or removal of officers involved in the incident.
The organization further emphasized that this press conference aimed to expose the growing corruption, abuse of authority, and atrocities committed by certain members of law enforcement agencies. Movement Kalki also raised serious concerns over cases where whistleblowers have mysteriously disappeared, alleging that similar incidents of wrongful framing and police brutality have been systematically covered up over time.
The speakers at the press conference highlighted that this is not an isolated case, stressing that several such cases have been suppressed in the past, eroding public trust in law enforcement. They urged the Jammu and Kashmir Police Administration to conduct a transparent and fair investigation, ensuring that those responsible face strict legal consequences. Movement Kalki reaffirmed its commitment to fighting against corruption, injustice, and the misuse of power. The organization vowed to continue its struggle for transparency and accountability in the system, pledging to stand by the common people and ensure that their voices are heard.
The press conference concluded with a strong call for justice, urging the administration to take decisive action against those who misuse their authority and tarnish the reputation of the police force.
