Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: DC inaugurates up-gradationof DM’s Jayshree Library at Rajouri

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today inaugurated the up-gradation of DM’s Jayshree Library under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme reaffirming the administration’s commitment to enhancing educational facilities for girl students in the district.
Located in the District Information Centre, the library has long been a valuable resource for students. Recognizing the need for better infrastructure, the administration has undertaken significant upgrades to make it more accessible and conducive for learning.
The newly installed facilities include CCTV cameras, air conditioning and heating systems, a first aid kit a water purifier, a vending machine, an all-in-one PC, a printer, Wi-Fi connectivity, an exhaust fan, an incinerator and other necessary items required for smooth functioning of the library. These improvements aim to bring the library on par with private institutions, offering students a high-quality educational environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma encouraged students to make the best use of the enhanced facilities. He emphasized that the administration remains committed to fostering academic excellence and skill development, particularly among young girls.
He further stated that these upgrades mark the beginning of a broader initiative to strengthen learning infrastructure in the district.
“This initiative under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is a step towards empowering young girls by providing them with a state-of-the-art learning space. Our goal is to create an environment where students can excel academically and develop essential skills for their future,” the DC said. He also assured that the district administration would continue to explore further enhancements to the library to ensure it remains a premier educational resource for the community.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem, District Information Officer Ashiq Rafiq Malik, and other officials.
