In a major push towards skill development and employment generation, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 25 beneficiaries of the SANKALP scheme.
The event marked a significant step in equipping the local workforce with industry-relevant skills and job opportunities.
The beneficiaries underwent specialized training in Autoconer Tenter and Ring Frame Doffer at Chenab Textile Mills, equipping them with industry-relevant expertise. The SANKALP scheme, aimed at enhancing skill development, provides structured training and internship opportunities to help the individuals to secure meaningful employment in Kathua’s growing industrial sector.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Rakesh Minhas reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering a skilled workforce, urging youth to pursue training in high-demand sectors.
He highlighted the ample employment opportunities available in Kathua’s expanding industries and encouraged aspiring professionals to align their skills with market needs for sustainable career growth.
The event was attended by ADC Ranjit Singh; CPO Ranjit Thakur; Superintendent ITI Kathua, Er Ajay Kumar; Training Head CTM, Sandeep Kumar. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts among the administration, industry, and training institutions to create a skilled and employable workforce.
