Hours after the recovery of three bodies of missing persons in Bani-Billawar area of Kathua district, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan on Sunday reviewed the situation in a high-level meeting here.
Union Home Secretary arrived here this morning to chair a high-level meeting after the recovery of bodies of missing persons.
Pointing out the involvement of terrorists, the Union Minister, who is also a Member of Parliament from the Kathua constituency posted on X that the brutal killing of three youths by terrorists in the Bani area of district Kathua is extremely sad as well as a matter of great concern.
There appears to be a deep conspiracy behind spoiling the atmosphere in this peaceful area.
“We have discussed this matter with the concerned officials. The Union Home Secretary himself is reaching Jammu so that the situation can be assessed on the spot. I am confident that it will be ensured that such incidents do not happen again and the confidence of the people remains strong,” he said.
“A threadbare security review meeting is underway in Jammu,” said official sources.
MLA Bani Rajeshwar Singh was hackled by the villagers on Saturday evening when he wanted to meet the families of the deceased.
The killings have triggered protests and shutdowns in the area.
The bodies of Varun Singh, (15), Yogesh Singh, (35) and Darshan Singh, (40), were found in a nullah in the remote Malhar area in the higher reaches of the Kathua district.
Earlier on February 16, the bodies of two villagers were found at village Kohag in Billawar and their postmortem revealed they were strangled to death.
