On the 6th day of the ongoing NSS Winter Camp, the NSS Unit of Dogra Degree College organized an enlightening health talk focusing on menstrual health and adolescent education. The session was held at the Anganwadi Center, where volunteers and local women gathered to participate in the informative event.
Dr. Geetanjali Rajput, Medical Officer at Smailpur, delivered an engaging lecture, addressing crucial aspects of menstrual health and providing essential knowledge about adolescent well-being. The talk aimed to raise awareness and educate the attendees on important health topics that impact young girls and women.
As part of the event, a pledge was taken by all participants to avoid intoxicants, emphasizing the importance of living a healthy and responsible life.
In addition, renowned Ayurvedic expert, Dr. Ravi Dutta Sharma, shared valuable insights on the role of Ayurveda in maintaining health and well-being. His session provided attendees with practical knowledge of natural remedies and holistic practices. As a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Sharma distributed free Ayurvedic medicines to students and local women, further supporting their health and well-being.
The health talk, which is a key component of the NSS Winter Camp, highlighted the importance of spreading awareness on health issues and fostering a sense of community and responsibility among the participants.
The talk was coordinated by Ms. Simran Thakur, NSS Program Officer, who ensured the
smooth execution of the event and encouraged students to take part in similar health awareness
initiatives.
Around 30 NSS Volunteers from Dogra Degree College actively participated in the event, engaging in discussions and learning about mensural health and wellbeing.
As a part of the ongoing Seven Days long NSS Winter Camp, inaugurated on 20th February 2025, Plantation Drive was also organized on 21st of February 2025 in the adopted village of Meen Sarkar followed by awareness about solid waste management on the 22nd of February in Govt. School Meensarkar. Cleanliness drive around the pond in village on the 23rd of February and awareness rally about the various Government schemes on the 24th of February.
The events of the week-long camp are part of the NSS Unit’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and contribute to a cleaner, greener, healthy and sustainable future for the village dwellers.
