NCC Cadets of Dogra Degree College Visit Suchetgarh Border

The NCC unit of Dogra Degree College conducted a patriotic visit to the Suchetgarh border RS Pura in which the NCC cadets of Dogra Degree College took part enthusiastically. Suchetgarh Border or BoP Octrol is located on the zero line of Indo Pak border and has been developed as a tourism spot by the J and K state tourism department. Suchetgarh post served as the route to Sialkot during the pre partition era which is just 11 km from the post and earlier there was an octare post at this point. The process of converting the place on the line of Wagha border was started few years back now Retreat ceremony is also organized on every Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. which is only one sided at present.
Around 30 NCC cadets took part in this visit under the guidance of Mr. Gulshan Sharma CTO/ANO NCC, Dogra Degree College. During the visit the cadet interacted with border security forces personnel’s in which the cadet came to know that Jammu and Kashmir is the only international state and or union territory in which all the borders are working borders, all the other states have International borders. The cadets were further explained about drill by a BSF personnel who was himself an Senior cadet. The cadets for further guided about AK 47 rifle and the Indian made AK 47(Tara) and other advanced weapons (P 90) which are used during night operation by the border security forces Mr. Gulshan Sharma CTO/ANO, NCC unit Dogra Degree College further motivated young cadets about how they can contribute to society by joining the armed forces and how the NCC can help in achieving their dreams of becoming an army officer. Overall the visit turned out to be a fruitful experience for the NCC Cadets.
