Youthful Energy Abounds at J&K Soft Tennis Tournament, Boosting Sports Culture

The Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Soft Tennis Association excelled in hosting a soft tennis tournament in the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir on Feb 23, 2025. Under the banner of the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India and in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, the event successfully took place at the Gindun Sports Stadium in Rajbagh, Srinagar.
Chairman of the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association, Mr. Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani, highlighted the inclusive nature of the tournament, with players representing every district of Jammu and Kashmir participating with zeal and sportsmanship. Expressing his gratitude towards the participants, their parents, and all those who graced the event with their presence, Mr. Wani emphasized the importance of such sporting competitions in fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among the youth of the state.
In his address to the media, Mr. Wani also urged the J&K Sports Council to consider scheduling similar competitions in the month of June next year, aligning with the school holidays and creating an optimal environment for maximum participation and engagement from aspiring young athletes.
During the event, Mr. Iqbal, the manager, graced the occasion as the “Guest of Honor,” inspiring and uplifting the players with his words of motivation while also offering his heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated organizers for their hard work in ensuring a successful tournament. In a touching display of respect and appreciation, the entire team came together to present Mr. Iqbal with an award, symbolizing their gratitude for his unwavering support.
“Through initiatives like these, we aim to promote sportsmanship, unity, and talent development among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The overwhelming response and enthusiasm displayed by the participants and spectators further underscore the significance of such events in nurturing a vibrant sports culture within our community,” remarked Mr. Wani.
