Jammu: Environmental building program under inclusive ( IE)Samagra Shiksha organised at Govt HS Brij Nagar Zone Miran Sahib .On this occasion, Principal GGHSS Miran Sahib Ashok Chopra addressed community members and explained briefly inclusive education and urged HOIs of HS/MS/PS to spread awareness about inclusive education and provide all type of support to CWSN in schools .Dr. Harjeet Kour discussed in brief about the 21 types of disabilities of CWSN . A cultural item presented by the students of Govt MS Brij Nagar. Principal Ashok Chopra also distributed prizes among specially abled students and teachers of zone.Lunch was also provided to the participants .
Principal GGHSS Miran Sahib Ashok Chopra in his address said that “Environmental Building Program under Inclusive (IE) Samagra Shiksha” refers to a specific initiative within the Samagra Shiksha scheme in India, focused on modifying and adapting school buildings to be accessible and inclusive for children with disabilities, considering environmental factors to create a suitable learning environment for all students. The core focus is on ensuring all children, including those with disabilities, can access education in a comfortable and supportive school environment. This is a comprehensive Indian government scheme aiming to provide quality education from pre-school to senior secondary level, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, added Chopra.
Dr. Harjeet Kour in her address said that overall, the “Environmental Building Program under Inclusive Samagra Shiksha” aims to create inclusive learning environments within schools by addressing both physical accessibility and environmental factors, ensuring that all students can participate effectively in their education regardless of their abilities.
The programme is aimed at raising mass awareness among the community regarding initiatives of the Education department and SAMAGRA Shiksha in particular for the benefit & upliftment of specially-abled children. She highlighted various schemes and benefits for the betterment of the CWSN to achieve the goal aimed under Inclusive Education. The participants appreciated the conduct of the programme. During the day-long programme, all guests and officers/ officials gave a message to the parents of children with special needs (CWSN) that they may enroll their children in Schools for want of Education, so as to provide them opportunity to achieve their goals, strive and thrive for independent livelihood and society as well.The parents were made aware of schemes and benefits under the Inclusive Education Component of SAMAGRA Shiksha for the upliftment, betterment and benefit of this community.
