Mohammad Altaf Dar, renowned socio-political activist and senior trade union leader, has strongly reacted to the recent “Rat Incident” in Hazratbal, calling it a serious health hazard and a sign of negligence within the food industry.
In his statement, Altaf Dar emphasized that this disturbing incident should serve as a wake-up call for authorities to conduct thorough inspaections and enforce stricter food safety regulations across Srinagar. He urged immediate action to ensure the hygiene and quality standards of all food establishments, from street vendors to major outlets.
“The safety and health of our people cannot be compromised. This incident highlights the urgent need for the administration to revamp the food industry with stringent checks and accountability,” Dar stated.
He further appealed to the concerned departments to take swift measures and ensure that such negligence is not repeated, stressing the need for a collective effort towards maintaining public health and safety.
