Dogra Degree College organized an Investor Awareness Program – Financial Literacy Session (FLS) to enhance students’ financial knowledge and investment awareness. The session featured Prince Singh, Manager at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), and also an alumni of Dogra Degree College.
The event commenced with a Welcome Address by Rakesh Mohan Koul, HOD, BBA & B.Com, who highlighted the significance of financial education for students and the role of financial literacy in shaping their future. The session was graced by Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, along with faculty members and the students, making it an engaging and insightful gathering.
Prince Singh shared valuable knowledge on key financial concepts, wealth creation, securities markets, mutual funds, risk assessment, portfolio diversification, and responsible investing.
Students gained practical insights into navigating financial markets, understanding investment instruments, and making informed financial decisions. He also discussed his role in overseeing IPO launches, including Exicom and Indo Farm Equipment, and highlighted the significance of SEBI regulations, depository services, and securities market fundamentals.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Bela Thakur emphasized the importance of financial literacy for students, stating, “Understanding financial markets and investment strategies is crucial in today’s world. This session has provided our students with the right knowledge to plan their financial future wisely.”
The interactive session saw active participation from students, who engaged in discussions and raised thought-provoking queries. The session successfully strengthened students’ understanding of the financial world, aligning with Dogra Degree College’s mission to provide industry-oriented learning experiences.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Preeti Sharma, Assistant Professor, who expressed gratitude to the Guest speaker for sharing his invaluable expertise and thanked the faculty and students for their enthusiastic participation.
