Dogra Higher Secondary School witnessed a vibrant and colorful celebration of Basant Panchami, marking the onset of the spring season with devotion and enthusiasm.
Basant Panchami is celebrated in reverence to Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of wisdom, learning, music, and arts. The festival was observed with great fervor as the school organized various activities, engaging students in a blend of tradition and creativity.
The celebrations began with a virtual special assembly featuring a soulful rendition of shlokas and pledges, invoking divine blessings. The Tiny Tots enthusiastically participated in the event in yellow attires, symbolizing prosperity and energy. Students offered yellow flowers to Goddess Saraswati and prayed for their success. A special highlight of the event was the crowning of “Basant Prince” and “Basant Princess”, adding to the festive spirit.
The school campus was adorned with colorful kites and yellow sunflowers, creating a lively ambiance. Students engaged in a craft activity and recited beautiful poems on Basant, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. A melodious prayer on “Saraswati Vandana” captivated everyone, spreading the message of devotion and joy.
The event was graced by the Managing Director, Kunwar Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, who delivered an inspiring speech, motivating students to be progressive learners and work towards achieving great success.
Mrs. Davinder Kaur, Principal of the school, highlighted the rituals and importance of Basant Panchami, emphasizing the values of learning and sharing. She worshipped Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of Wisdom, Knowledge, Music and Arts, along with staff members and prayed to seek the blessings for students of DHSS . She also appreciated the efforts of Mrs. Meenakshi Gupta (Tagore House Incharge), Mrs. Sheetal (Activity Incharge), and Mrs. Meenu (Art & Craft Teacher) for beautifully decorating the institution and making the event memorable.
Miss Shivani, a teacher at DHSS, explained the cultural and spiritual essence of Basant Panchami and enlightened students about the significance of Basant Panchami.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of Prasad, spreading joy and positivity among all. The event was a resounding success, reinforcing the cultural values and traditions among students while fostering a spirit of unity and devotion.
