Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta launched a scathing attack on former Congress president Sonia Gandhi over her alleged remark referring to the President Droupadi Murmu’s address at the Budget session of Parliament as a “poor thing.” He stated that such comments demean the dignity of the highest constitutional office and expose the Congress party’s feudal mindset.
In a press statement issued here today, the BJP stalwart accused the Congress of consistently disrespecting President of India, showing their disregard for the values of democracy and social empowerment. “This is not the first time the Congress has ridiculed President Murmu. Rahul Gandhi, who frequently flaunts the Constitution, has not even shown the courtesy of visiting the President,” he said.
The senior BJP leader further alleged that the Congress has no respect for Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, constitutional values, or the upliftment of socially marginalized communities, including Dalits, OBCs, and Tribals. “Their actions over the years prove that they only engage in tokenism, while in reality, they undermine the very principles of social justice,” he added.
The senior BJP leader also criticized Congress for sidelining Presidents during their regime, treating them as mere figureheads instead of upholding the dignity of their office. “Even during their tenure, the Congress leadership never gave due respect to the Presidents of India, reducing the high office to ceremonial status under their control,” he said.
The former Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is witnessing an era where the dignity of constitutional offices is being restored, and marginalized communities are truly empowered. He called upon the people to reject the Congress’s outdated mindset and support a leadership committed to justice, equality, and national progress.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta paid obeisance at Lal Dwara Mandir on the auspicious occasion of the 670th birth anniversary of Baba Lal Ji. He prayed for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the country and emphasized the significance of spiritual and cultural heritage in strengthening social values.
