Islamic scholar and renowned Shia leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mosui Al-Saffowi, has strongly condemned the proposed Waqf amendment bill, calling it a deliberate conspiracy against Muslims and an attack on their religious rights.
Addressing a gathering at Central Imam Barah in Budgam during Friday prayers, Agha Hassan criticized the bill as a blatant interference in Islam and an attempt to undermine Muslim identity. He warned that the legislation could impact religious institutions and the community’s right to worship.
“This bill is not just a legal issue; it is an assault on our faith and fundamental rights. The government is trying to interfere in our religion under the guise of legislation,” he said, urging the Muslim community to oppose the bill at every level.
Agha Hassan called for unified resistance against the proposed changes, asserting that Muslims would not tolerate any infringement on their religious freedoms.
