Dogra Degree College is proud to announce that Sujal Dubey, a student of the BA 4th Semester, and Isha Sayal, a student of the B.Com 4th Semester, from the NSS Unit of the college, were selected as Special Guests for the prestigious Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi from January 23rd to 26th, 2025. This unique opportunity was granted by the Government of India, offering the students an enriching and unforgettable experience.
The four-day journey began with an in-depth exploration of India’s rich history and culture. The students and their parents visited the PradhanmantriSangrahalaya, gaining insights into India’s freedom struggle, the establishment of the Indian Constitution, and the leadership of the nation’s Prime Ministers, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi.
The experience was further enriched by a visit to the Gandhi Darshan Museum, where they were moved by historical artifacts, including the boat used during the Dandi March and the Gun Carriage that carried Mahatma Gandhi’s mortal remains.
A significant part of the trip was the visit to the Sports Authority of India (SAI), where Sujal and Isha had the honor of interacting with Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. They engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with renowned athletes on the growth of Indian sports and the promotion of young talent. Students also learned about the MY Bharat Portal, a digital platform that connects volunteers to national initiatives, motivating them to contribute to nation-building.
The highlight of the journey was witnessing the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. Sujal and Isha had the rare privilege of seeing esteemed leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, as they arrived at the parade grounds. The event showcased India’s military strength, cutting-edge technology, and honored war heroes, including Param Vir Chakra awardees.
The parade also featured awe-inspiring cultural performances, a tribute to India’s heritage, and breathtaking aerial displays by the Indian Air Force. The presence of India’s military might, along with the emotional recognition of national heroes, left an indelible impact on the students.
Sujal and Isha express their deep gratitude to Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak (College Trustee), Mrs. Bela Thakur (Principal, Dogra Degree College), and Miss Simran Mam (NSS Program Officer) for making this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible. The experience has not only deepened their understanding of India’s progress but has also strengthened their commitment to contributing to the nation through social service and nation-building.
This unforgettable experience has ignited a renewed sense of patriotism and inspired them to serve the nation through the National Service Scheme (NSS) with greater dedication.
