Participates in TB Mukt Bharat Campaign, Emphasizes commitment to a TB-Free Jammu

Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta today participated in a programme organized under the 100-day Tuberculosis (TB) awareness campaign led by the District TB Control Society, Jammu.
The campaign, launched as part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, began on December 7, 2024, and will continue until March 17, 2025. Marking its 50-day milestone, the initiative aims to eradicate TB by raising awareness and strengthening healthcare services.
Accompanying MLA Arvind Gupta at the event were Mandal President Kushant Daffara and Anil Angral, BJP workers Karan Sharma and Mohit Vaid along with prominent health officials, including Dr. Rakesh Mangotia (Director, Health Services Jammu), Dr. Harbaksh Singh (Chief Medical Officer, Jammu), Dr. Jyoti Jolly (State Tuberculosis Officer), Dr. Anu Saloch (Superintendent, CD Hospital), and Dr. Rakesh Sharma. Medical officers, District TB Control (DTC) Jammu staff, and officials from the State TB Office (STO) also attended the event.
Dr. Rakesh Mangotia, Director Health Services, Jammu briefed the attendees on the progress of the campaign and the steps being taken to enhance TB detection and treatment. He also encouraged individuals and organizations to become “Nikshay Mitras” by adopting TB patients and supporting them in their recovery journey.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta lauded the efforts of the medical fraternity and health officials in their relentless fight against tuberculosis. He emphasized that the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring a TB-free India and has introduced various schemes to support TB patients, including nutritional assistance and free medication. He also highlighted the importance of community participation in achieving the goal of eliminating TB by 2025.
“The fight against TB requires collective action. Public awareness, early detection, and timely treatment are crucial in eradicating this disease. I urge every citizen to actively contribute to this mission by spreading awareness and supporting TB patients,” Gupta stated.
Arvind Gupta assured full support to health authorities in their mission to achieve a TB-free Jammu.
The event concluded with a pledge to intensify efforts in spreading awareness and ensuring that every TB patient receives proper treatment and care.
