Under Operation Sadbhavana, the Crossed Swords Division of the Indian Army has launched a comprehensive Skill Development Training program on LED Light Assembly and Repair, tailored specifically for the youth of the Akhnoor region. The training was inaugurated today at Akhnoor under the aegis of the Crossed Swords Division, in collaboration with Career Park Trust, an organization accredited as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education & Training under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Commander of the Chenab Gunners, who officially launched this transformative project.
The event was attended by Sh. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Chairman of Shri Ram Dass Education Trust, Sh. Girish Parihar, Principal of Polyskill Pvt ITI, Gurha Brahmana, the Career Park Trust team, and other esteemed guests.
The ceremony also witnessed enthusiastic participation from 60 trainees enrolled in the program, along with local youth and members of the community. This 500-hour training initiative, sponsored by the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana, aims to equip 60 trainees with advanced skills in LED light assembly and repair. The curriculum focuses on setting up self-help groups (SHGs) and selling products online, enabling trainees to become entrepreneurs and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
The training will be conducted with state-of-the-art facilities and expert faculty at Multi-Skill ITI Akhnoor, enhancing the employability and entrepreneurial potential of the local youth. This initiative is poised to create job opportunities and empower trainees to become entrepreneurs and job providers in the area. The local community expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for its unwavering support and benevolent initiatives. They lauded the Indian Army for introducing such unique programs that are the “need of the hour” and pledged their support for future endeavours aimed at enhancing peace, progress, and prosperity in the region.
