Civil society members, including political representatives and local media fraternity from across the district today called on Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and greeted him for receiving the prestigious President’s Award.
The award, presented by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on January 25, 2025, recognized his exceptional leadership and efforts in ensuring the smooth and transparent conduct of the 2024 General Assembly Elections in the district.
The delegations expressed their admiration for Harvinder Singh’s dedication, meticulous planning, and coordination with various departments that led to an exemplary electoral process.
Representatives from political groups highlighted his impartial approach and commitment to upholding democratic values, while members of the media fraternity commended his transparency and accessibility during the election period. Public deputations also lauded the efforts made under his leadership to ensure inclusive participation and a secure environment for voters across the district, even in remote and challenging areas.
IThe visiting groups also praised the Deputy Commissioner’s broader contribution towards the development of the District, including his focus on infrastructure, education, health, and social welfare initiatives.
