Dogra Degree College organizes visit to IIM for BRICS Entrepreneurship Run-Up Event

A delegation of BBA and B.Com students from Dogra Degree College, accompanied by faculty members, recently participated in the prestigious BRICS Entrepreneurship Run-Up event hosted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). The event focused on critical topics such as Mission YuvA, Baseline Surveys, Outcome-Based Research, and featured dynamic Panel Discussions with thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts from across the BRICS nations.
Mission YuvA, an initiative aimed at fostering youth entrepreneurship, was a core highlight of the event. It provided young minds with the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to drive innovation and build businesses that can make a lasting impact. This initiative emphasized the importance of empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and supporting them as they develop solutions for both local and global challenges.
A Baseline Survey conducted during the event offered invaluable insights into the entrepreneurial landscape within BRICS countries, shedding light on current trends, gaps, and opportunities for young entrepreneurs. The data gathered will inform future programs designed to strengthen youth entrepreneurship and support aspiring business leaders.
The event also spotlighted Outcome-Based Research, a significant area of focus in modern education, where academic learning is tied directly to measurable, real-world outcomes. Panel discussions highlighted how educational institutions can implement this approach to better prepare students for the demands of the entrepreneurial world, ensuring their research and learning have a tangible impact.
In addition to these focal themes, the event featured a series of Panel Discussions with industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and experts. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, from the future of entrepreneurship in a globalized world to strategies for overcoming challenges faced by young business owners. The panelists provided insights into the latest business trends, leadership skills, and strategies for turning innovative ideas into successful ventures.
Principal Dr. Bela Thakur, led the Dogra Degree College delegation, shared her enthusiasm about the event.
Rakesh Koul, Head of Department, of management and commerce at Dogra Degree College, stated the significance of the event for the students.
Amarpreet Kaur, IIC Convenor, stating, “These discussions are key to understanding the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the skills required to succeed. “Faculty members Swati Mahajan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, and Preeti Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, who attended the entire event, also expressed their enthusiasm.
